It Is Time to Demand the Complete Implementation of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt) Without Compromise

Dawn Newspaper reported that the federal government and Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan (JI) on Thursday, 3 September 2026, agreed to constitute committees to recommend measures for reducing the petroleum levy and providing relief to the public.

Opposing the oppressive petroleum levy, the exploitation by ruling elites, and the collusion of mafias that bleed the common citizen dry, is good. However, it is time to elevate this struggle. It is time to demand the implementation of all of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt), not merely the right of Muslims regarding petroleum or the adjustment of man-made tax rates.

While accounting the rulers over the petroleum levy is good, it addresses only a single symptom of a terminal disease. The root cause of this economic strangulation, the rise of exploitative mafias, and the crushing burden on the masses is the abandoning Shariah Law of Allah (swt) regarding ruling governance, economics, and the judiciary.

Under the complete implementation of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt), natural resources such as petroleum are classified as public property. The state supervises these resources for the needs of all the citizens, not to impose crushing, illegitimate taxes to fund elite privilege, lavish lifestyles, and the sin of riba (interest).

We must not limit our demand to the abolition of a specific levy or the regulation of prices within a flawed, secular, capitalist framework. A piecemeal approach will only give temporary relief at most, followed by renewed oppression, because the underlying system remains a system of disbelief. True justice can only be achieved when ruling governance, economy and judiciary are all according to the Shariah Law of Allah (swt).

O the influential in Pakistan, their ulema and politicians! Make the complete implementation of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt) the central, non-negotiable pillar of your political struggle. By demanding the ruling governance by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, you will cure the terminal disease completely. Do not let political struggle be reduced to a bargaining chip over percentages and levies. Demand the system that guarantees those levies could never exist in the first place, the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood.

May Allah (swt) grant you the clarity, courage, and steadfastness to uphold His Deen in its entirety. Allah (swt) said,

[یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوا ادْخُلُوْا فِی السِّلْمِ كَآفَّةً۪]

“O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely” [TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah: 208].
