The Sharaa Administration in Syria Knows No Limits in Its Submission to the U.S.

News:

U.S. President Donald Trump sent a handwritten letter to Syrian leader Ahmed Sharaa, reiterating his support and promising U.S. assistance. The letter was delivered to Damascus through Tom Barrack, one of Trump’s close associates and an international businessman. A photo of the moment Trump met with Sharaa in the Oval Office was attached to the letter. Trump wrote the following note on that photo in his own handwriting: “Ahmed, you are going to be a great leader, and America will help!” (Agencies, Dec. 3, 2025)

Comment:

Since the day he took office, Tom Barrack, the U.S. Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria, has practically been living in Damascus. Following the reopening of the U.S. ambassadorial residence in Damascus in May, there has been a constant flow of meetings and a remarkable synchronization between Washington and Damascus. From the CENTCOM commander to numerous military officials, from lower- and higher-level diplomats to representatives of oil and investment companies—every colonialist figure is parading through Damascus under Tom Barrack’s guidance to ensure Syria’s complete obedience to America’s evil plans. Each visit and meeting increases the Sharaa administration’s submission to the U.S., tightens the noose placed around Syria’s neck, and adds new links to the chain of betrayal of the Islamic revolution.

The arrogant Trump sending a letter addressing Sharaa by name, expressing his satisfaction, and praising him—thereby insulting him openly—is also a result of this blind submission. It is also notable that Trump’s message was sent after Ahmed Sharaa’s visit to the White House and that the letter included a photo taken in the Oval Office. For after that meeting, the Damascus administration committed a grave act by agreeing to join the so-called anti-ISIS coalition—which in reality was a Crusader Coalition established to wage war against Islamic doctrine and the idea of ruling by Islam.

The first result of this participation, which cannot be explained either legally (Shar‘i) or politically, will undoubtedly be the targeting—one by one—of those who adopt Islam as a way of life and governance, whether they are Syrian or muhajir. Indeed, such operations are already underway. Following them, it will hold accountable all those who remain silent in the face of this humiliation and ignore the disasters it will bring!

This betrayal is so great that the U.S. had previously made two major attempts to implement the partnership that the Damascus administration has now formally accepted: the “operational mechanism” in 2012 and the “train-and-equip” projects in 2014. But the FSA and other opposition groups refused to fight Muslims and refused to work with the United States, so the project failed. Back then, the Syrian revolution was moving forward with full trust in Allah and loyalty to Islamic principles—before countries like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar approached from the right, cornered the revolution in Idlib, and trapped it in the “domestication” scheme.

Let us now return to the letter that Trump’s colonial governor Tomm Barrack delivered to Ahmed Şara: in this picture composed of a single sentence and a single photograph, there are thousands of messages for those who can understand. The first that comes to mind is this: Shame is part of Iman; one who loses their sense of shame can give whatever picture they wish and do whatever they please. On the other hand, if the U.S. is investing this much in Ahmed Sharaa, one wonders how much longer the bones of the martyrs of Bilad al-Sham will continue to ache. For among the new obligations imposed on Sharaa by Trump’s praise are the handover of southwestern Syria to the control of the Jewish entity, joining the Abraham Accords, the establishment of U.S. bases in Damascus, and the implementation of numerous critical agreements regarding oil exploration by U.S. companies along Syria’s western coast. Compared to the sin and future danger carried by these agreements, the lifting of U.S. economic sanctions on Syria under the Caesar Act is insignificant.

And now, while holding the responsible parties accountable, let us ask the real question: After the upcoming first anniversary of the liberation day on December 8, what remains in Syria’s possession? A revolution buried in the soil; lost honor; an Ummah that is strong but is now chained and humiliated... And all this in exchange for what? For the so-called stability and development promised by the colonialist, Kafir United States? For the divisive and destructive Arab Republic that has been preferred over the Islamic Caliphate project—the umbrella of unity and dignity for the ummah, for which the people of Syria paid a great price? For reconciling and normalizing with the Jewish entity at the cost of Gaza’s destruction? For giving up the “yellow ox” so that the “black ox” may live a little longer?

Distant and recent history is full of examples of those who sought power, honor, and dignity anywhere but in Islam—and who ended up in loss both in this world and the next. So, will Ahmed Sharaa take heed and return to the fundamentals of the Syrian revolution? Will he realize that he is no longer merely a faction leader but responsible for all the people of Syria and all its lands? Will he reflect and act again by declaring that a revolution is an idea that never ends; that the real struggle begins after attaining power; and that when relying on Allah and the ummah, no obstacle is insurmountable? Or will he choose to live under American and Jewish domination, inside the cage of a secular nation-state, as one captive among captives—bearing the burden of Syria’s people, oppressed Gaza, and the entire ummah, choosing humiliation and loss?

“The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of a spider spinning a shelter. And the flimsiest of all shelters is certainly that of a spider, if only they knew.” [Surah Al-Ankabut: 41]
