To the Arab Summit of Peoples: Support for Gaza Will Only Come by Mobilizing the Armies

At a time when Gaza has entered a stage of catastrophic famine, and the suffering of its people has increased due to bombing, killing, siege, and starvation, the Arab Summit of Peoples was held under the slogan “Mobilizing the Ummah to Support Our Starving Children in Gaza. It brought together a group of Arab thinkers, politicians, and human rights advocates via video conferencing, and called for the deployment of international observers in Gaza, the opening of a safe humanitarian corridor for aid delivery, and an end to the blockade imposed by the Jewish entity on the Gaza Strip.

The Arab intellectuals called for lifting the blockade on Gaza while fully aware that it is not only besieged by the Jewish entity, but also blockaded by Arab regimes through official political will, disgraceful security coordination, and unwavering international collusion. What happened with the “Convoy of Steadfastness” is evidence of this. The crime was added to the official record of betrayal by the Arab states, foremost among them Egypt and Jordan. So, is the genocide committed by the Jews in Gaza to be met with begging for safe passages? Or can the enormity of the crime and the treachery be erased only by serious work to topple the thrones, mobilize the armies, break the nationalistic borders, and declare general mobilization for Jihad in the Path of Allah (swt) until the land of Palestine is cleansed of the occupying Jews and returned to the embrace of the Islamic Ummah?

Undoubtedly, the word “summit” brings to mind political summits that discuss mechanisms for real change on the ground through impactful decisions. Yet this summit, in many aspects, appeared as an attempt to blur the vision and distract attention: on one front, the humanitarian image was highlighted, reducing the needs of Gaza’s people to food, water, medicine, fuel, and electricity; on another front, the conflict was framed in purely nationalistic terms, limiting the role of the Muslim peoples to moral support and prayers; and on a third front, the solution was reduced to appeals for international powers and UN institutions to intervene under the label of “international legitimacy”!

There is no doubt that the issue of Palestine is a central cause for the Islamic Ummah and its dynamic elements. Indeed, it is the Ummah’s cause and still alive in its heart. However, the truth that must be stated is this: begging for the opening of crossings from those who conspired with the Jewish entity, betrayed the people of Gaza, and demanded the entry of humanitarian convoys, will not topple an occupying entity, will not liberate land, will not stop the bombardment, and will not lift a siege.

Islam has made it clear that supporting the oppressed is an obligation upon those who possess power and strength, not upon those who only possess slogans. Allah (swt) said,

“And what is it with you? You do not fight in the cause of Allah and for oppressed men, women, and children…” [TMQ Surah An-Nisa: 75].

Who is addressed in this verse? It is the people of power and strength: the Egyptian army, the Jordanian army, the Turkish army, the Pakistani Army, and all the armies of the Muslims whose numbers exceed 5 million soldiers, possessing enough weaponry to destroy the Jewish entity in a matter of days, if they had sincere leadership. However, instead of moving toward Al-Quds, we see them besieging their peoples, repressing convoys, and protecting the borders of the Jewish entity from popular rage!

The duty of Arab intellectuals and politicians was to demand the mobilization of the armies, as they are the most decisive factor, the balance point in our struggle with the Jews and in the Ummah’s march toward liberation (tahrir) and regaining authority. The call for their mobilization, to take their rightful role in supporting the Ummah’s causes, foremost among them Palestine, and to join the ranks of the Ummah in overthrowing the ruling regimes in our lands, upon whose ruins the Second Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will be established, implementing Islam, unifying the Ummah, and harnessing its resources to engage in an effective and productive civilizational struggle with the colonialist West. Indeed, this call to mobilize the armies has become more necessary in this war than ever before.

The declared and unlimited support of the Western colonialist powers, America being the foremost amongst them, for the Jewish entity, and their threats against our Ummah’s peoples of consequences, should they intervene in supporting the people of Palestine, makes the call to mobilize the armies the highest and most urgent priority. The Islamic Ummah and its dynamic elements must not despair or give up in persistently calling upon their armies. They are our brothers and sons; much good remains within them, and the hope in their response never ends. All efforts must be made to ensure they align with the Ummah’s camp and rise to defend its Deen and causes.

Although the issue of Palestine is separate from the matter of resuming the Islamic way of life, the armies form the common factor between them. A reading of reality shows that those who prevent the armies of the Muslims from moving to liberate Palestine are the ruling regimes in Muslim lands, which serve as the protective wall for the Jewish entity. Therefore, it has become imperative to remove this wall. For this reason, the title of the “Arab Summit of Peoples” should have been, “Topple the Thrones and Mobilize the Armies.” The call must focus on liberating the Ummah from its shackles through the mobilization of the people of power and strength, so the Ummah regains its authority, decides to implement the Shariah Law of its Lord, liberates its sanctities, and unleashes its energies under the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. And that is not difficult for Allah (swt). The Prophet (saw) said,

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ»

“Then there will be a Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood.”
