[مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]
“Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah.1 Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least” [Al-Ahzab: 23]
The Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Members of the Ameer's Office, the Diwan of Al-Madhalim (Grievances), and the Central Media Office and Hizb ut Tahrir in general mourns to the Islamic Ummah the member of the Ameer's Office, Ustadh Ahmad Bakr (Abu Osama) who passed away this morning, the 22nd of Rabi` Al-Awwal 1447 AH corresponding to the 14 September 2025 CE, at the age of eighty-seven years.
Abu Osama was from the first generation of Hizb ut Tahrir who carried the Dawah for the sake of Allah to resume the Islamic way of life by the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) State. He remained steadfast upon the truth and carried the call until his death. He was not intimidated by the regimes and their tyranny, nor by the terrible prisons of the oppressors like the prisons of Hafez and Bashar al-Assad, where he languished for many years! When he was released from prison, he was not idle nor succumb, but rather continued his path in carrying the call in the way of Allah with the strength and steadfastness of real men, his eyes yearning for the dawn of the Khilafah (Caliphate) and the implementation of Islam with its creed and system... However, Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, chose for him what is greater and more sublime, by His permission, glory be to Him:
[فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ]“At the Seat of Honour in the presence of the Most Powerful Sovereign” [Al-Qamar: 55].
May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Osama. We are saddened by your departure, and we only say what pleases Allah (swt)
[الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ]
“Those who say, when struck by a disaster, ‘Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.’” [Al-Baqara: 156]. Surely to Allah we belong and to him we will return.
