The Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi gave a speech in the European Parliament in Brussels under the heading: “The results of the clash taking place in the Middle-East upon the Christians and their future”.
There have been consecutive reports of the news of fighting taking place between Jaish ul-Islam on one side and Faliq Ar-Rahman and Jaish ul-Fustat on the other side in East Ghouta.
Allah Almighty says:
(وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنْ بَعْضِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ)
“And judge, [O Muhammad], between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations and beware of them, lest they tempt you away from some of what Allah has revealed to you” [Al-Ma’ida: 49]
In a declined society hit by crisis after crisis, the first signs of revival are caused by the crisis itself. What the crisis does is shake the society into thinking about what went wrong. Although this thinking process is spread across the whole of society, it is generally more refined among the intellectual circles and thought leaders. Societies can turn crisis into opportunities but the prerequisite is correct diagnosis of the problem and correct thinking.
