CEDAW and the United Nations have No Authority to Manage Women’s Rights in the Muslim Regions

Akipress covered a news topic relating to CEDAW policies on women and its lack of implementation in Kazakhstan. Human Rights Watch has expressed concern over the failure of the Government to tackle Domestic violence and equality for disabled women. It cited that currently the laws relating to criminalization and punishment of offenders if inadequate and leaves women open to abuse.

This Holiday Season, Homeless Children in the UK is up by 46%

On the 3rd of December 2019, the BBC reported on the rising homelessness amounts children in the UK. There is a 46% rise in the number of children that will spend their last months of 2019 not in their own family homes. Many live in Bed and Breakfast or sheltered accommodation as well as many children.

On the 5th of December 2019, the BBC reported on an attack on a refugee migrant centre in Madrid, Spain. A bomb squad was called to defuse a grenade that was thrown over the wall housing unaccompanied children of people fleeing war zones and danger. A spokesperson from one of the active political parties, Adriana Lastra stated that the racist agenda of the current political climate was to blame.

Last night, 12th of December, Boris Johnson won the UK elections with a landslide victory for his party that saw the biggest election defeat for the Labour Party since 1935. Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn kept his seat in parliament, but with such a crushing defeat nationally, he announced that he would not be leading his party into the next general election.
