US President Donald Trump delivered a speech in Florida on 2 May 2026, in West Palm Beach, where he focused on war with Iran and a naval blockade. He praised the US Navy, describing its seizure of Iranian ships by saying, “We’re sort of like pirates,” and affirmed the destruction of the Iranian army and the blockade of its ports. Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had said on Thursday, April 30, that “foreign actors” have no place in the Gulf except “in its deepest waters.” This statement came more than seven weeks after his appointment as the new Supreme Leader of the country following the assassination of his father, whom the Iranians have yet to see or hear from. A message attributed to him read, “We and our neighbors across the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman share a common destiny, and foreign actors—who come from thousands of kilometers away with greedy intentions—have no place here except in the depths of its waters.” Thursday’s message comes as Trump prepares to impose a long-term blockade on Iranian ports, which he sees as the primary pressure tactic to force Iran to resume negotiations aimed at ending the war.

Despite Trump’s admission that he is a pirate who preys on the waterways and ships sailing in Muslim seas, rulers of Muslims still seek his favor, taking him as their role model and master. Despite the clear evidence that pirates cannot withstand the true naval power of the seas, and that they operate outside the bounds of international law, norms, and human values, the existing regimes in the Muslim World still fear this pirate, and believe him to be an invincible force. What more could they want than this admission from the pirate himself, after it has become evident to all with eyes to see that the colonialist power behind this pirate has failed to subdue a Muslim country that has been subjected for decades to international sanctions, which have severely hampered the development of a military force commensurate with the full capabilities of its people?

If any single existing regime in the Muslim World possessed even the slightest degree of independence in its decision-making, they would have seized this golden opportunity to break free from Western colonialism, and would have been able to establish a global Islamic superpower, instead of constantly shifting their allegiance from America to Britain or Russia. However, the insistence of these regimes on perpetual subservience to the disbelieving colonialists, without even considering liberation (تحرير tahrir) from their disbelieving colonialist master, confirms that these regimes have no connection whatsoever to this Ummah. They are merely vassal regimes, inseparable from their master who installed them as thieves and pirates plundering the Ummah, its resources, and its beliefs.

This situation confirms that only Hizb ut Tahrir (حزب التحرير Party of Liberation), the proponent of the project of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, possess the Shariah vision regarding the Shariah obligation of liberating the Ummah from the colonialist disbeliever, and the Shariah obligation of the Ummah’s unity under the Khilafah. They alone possess the political awareness and foresight for guardianship of the affairs of the Ummah and all of humanity. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the sincere individuals within those with military power and protection, to grant military support (نصرة nussrah) to them to establish the second Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, which will liberate them and their Ummah from the hegemony of the colonialist disbeliever and lead humanity with the great Deen of Islam.
