There is Nothing “Little” About the Caliphate, O Marco Rubio!

In his interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News, US Secretary of State Marco declared on 2 December 2025, “Radical Islam has shown that their desire is not simply to occupy one part of the world and be happy with their own little caliphate; they want to expand. It is a – it’s revolutionary in its nature. It seeks to expand and control more territories and more people.” [US State Department]

Comment:

Significantly, Rubio used the word “radical” rather than “extremist” or “violent” to describe Islam. In choosing the word “radical”, Rubio did not make a mistake. The deep state in America does not fear sectarianism or raising of arms as much as it fears the complete political project of implementing Islam radically, and then expanding its Dawah to dominate the entire world.

As for choosing the word “little” to describe the caliphate, it is in the style of belittling the enemy, whilst aggrandizing the ally. In fact, Rubio himself knows well that there is nothing “little” about the Caliphate, as he links the Caliphate to expansion.

Indeed, when Allah (swt) grants nasr (victory) to the Ummah, the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate) will arise in any part of the Muslim World, before unifying the entire Muslim World as the world’s largest state.

Moreover, the actions of the US State Department confirm that its head, Rubio, knows that there is nothing “little” about the Caliphate. In the last two years, it has violated the Western principle of freedom of expression, by supervising the banning of the Dawah to Isam and its implementation throughout the Muslim World, and even amongst the Muslim diasporas in the West.

O Muslims: The Arabic proverb states, الفضل ما شهدت به الأعداء “The virtue is what is witnessed by the enemies.” Indeed, the importance of the Khilafah (Caliphate) is uttered by the tongue of our enemies. Certainly, there is nothing “little” about our Caliphate, it is a great Shariah obligation about which Allah (swt) will account us on the Day of Judgement. The Prophet (saw) said,

«كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَسُوسُهُمُ الأَنْبِيَاءُ، كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ نَبِيٌّ خَلَفَهُ نَبِيٌّ، وَإِنَّهُ لا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي، وَسَيَكُونُ خُلَفَاءُ فَيَكْثُرُونَ، قَالُوا: فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ: فُوا بِبَيْعَةِ الأَوَّلِ فَالأَوَّلِ، أَعْطُوهُمْ حَقَّهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَائِلُهُمْ عَمَّا اسْتَرْعَاهُمْ»

“Banu Isra'il were ruled over by the Prophets (as). When one Prophet (as) died, another succeeded him; but after me there is no Prophet and there will be Khulafa’a and they will be many. His Companions (ra) asked, ‘What do you order us to do?’ He (saw) said, “Give them Bayah one after another and concede to them their due rights. Allah will question them about the charge He had entrusted to them.” (Bukhari and Muslim). So let us all strive for the pleasure of Allah to restore the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate).

Indeed, there is nothing little about our Khilafah (Caliphate), it is a great bounty from Allah (swt) which ensures justice and repels injustice. Abu Bakr at-Turtushi (الطُّرْطُوشيُّ), who died in 520 AH, said in “Siraj ul-Mulook (سراج الملوك),” that, “اعلَموا أرشَدَكُم اللَّهُ أنَّ في وُجودِ السُّلطانِ في الأرضِ حِكمةً للهِ تعالى عَظيمةً، ونِعمةً على العِبادِ جَزيلةً لأنَّ اللهَ سُبحانَهُ وتعالى جَبَلَ الخَلائِقَ على حُبِّ الانتِصافِ، وعَدَمِ الإنصافِ، ومَثَلُهم بلا سُلْطانٍ كمَثَلِ الحوتِ في البَحرِ يَزدَرِدُ الكَبيرَ والصَّغيرَ، فمَتَى لم يَكُن لَهم سُلْطانٌ قاهِرٌ لم يَنتَظِم لَهم أمرٌ، ولم يَستَقِرَّ لَهم مَعاشٌ، ولم يَتَهنَّوا بالحَياةِ “Know, may Allah )swt) guide you, that in the presence of an authority (sultan) on the earth, there is a great wisdom of Allah )swt). It is a bounty for His servants, because Allah (swt) has created creatures to love justice and hate lack of justice. Their parable, without authority, is like that of a whale adrift in the sea, devouring both the strong and the weak. So, when they do not have a compelling authority, they are not organized. There is no stable livelihood for them and they do not enjoy life.”

Let the enemies see what they fear at their door!
