Sudan's War: A Story of Colonialism, Betrayal & Deception

 

The brutal conflict in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Force (RSF) has now entered its 3^rd year. Some estimates put the death toll at 150,000 with heinous atrocities committed by both sides including cold-blooded executions, torture and mass rapes. Ethnic Cleansing has also been reported with massacres perpetrated in various towns, villages and displacement camps. The war has also triggered the largest global humanitarian crisis; the largest displacement crisis in the world; and the world’s largest hunger crisis with half of the population of 50 million facing starvation.

However, this conflict has been described as the “Forgotten War” and “an invisible and hidden crisis” for it has not received the global attention & international media coverage that it deserves. Therefore, the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir have launched a Global Campaign to bring an international spotlight on the deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the Muslims of Sudan. The campaign will also address: the Politics & Hidden Agendas behind the Conflict, the Regional & International states Sponsoring the War and Why; the History of Sudan & the Factors which Caused its Recent Conflicts & Economic Failure; Why the Democratic System Will Fail to Solve Sudan’s Myriad of Political, Economic, Ethnic & Social Problems; and How the Islamic Leadership of the Khilafah State Can Build a Prosperous, Secure, & Successful Future for Sudan and the Rest of the Muslim world.

Responding with takbir, tahlil, and support, along with media and political mobilization, the stand held by Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan to thwart the Darfur secession plan was held in front of the Grand Mosque in Port Sudan. Worshippers gathered after Friday prayers, 20 Rabi' al-Awwal 1447 AH - 12 September 2025 CE, at the Grand Mosque in Port Sudan for the stand held by Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan in front of the Grand Mosque as part of the party's campaign to thwart the Darfur secession plan.

How did Islam Enter Sudan?

This video explains the first connection between Islam and Sudan, and how Islam spread across the country through Arab migration, trade and peaceful propagation. It is part of a global campaign launched by the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir entitled, "Sudan's War: A Story of Colonialism, Betrayal & Deception" that aims to bring an spotlight on the deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the Muslims of Sudan as a result of the current conflict plaguing the country which has been labelled the "Forgotten War".

The Situation as a Consequence of the Conflict in Sudan!

Sister Um Ali, from Sudan, describes the tragic situations that they live through under the shadow of armed conflict existing there between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), under the leadership of Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under the leadership of Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. 

Sudan Under the Islamic State!

Sister Maryam talks about what Sudan will be like under the Islamic State (the Rightly-Guided Caliphate based on the method of the Prophethood) that we are working to establish. Sudan will be united under one banner governed by Islam, which will restore prosperity and dignity and restore the country to the world's breadbasket.
